Bernard Hughes's large-scale choral piece A Medieval Bestiary, setting a cornucopia of animal poetry from the middle ages, is being performed on 5 October 2018 by Londinium Choir, conducted by Andrew Griffiths. Tickets are now available for the concert at St John's, Waterloo in London. A Medieval Bestiary features on I am the Song, performed by the BBC Singers, who commissioned it in 2011.

The recording features pieces by composers including Judith Weir, Howard Skempton and Nico Muhly, and includes Bernard Hughes's O du Liebe meiner Liebe, premiered by William Howard in 2017. The King, an award-winning short film by director Frederic Casella, with music by Bernard Hughes, is now available to watch on Vimeo. Co-written by, and starring, storyteller Giles Abbott. The King is a modern-day fable combining an east London drug deal and a fantastical animated world of kings and spirits.
The BBC Symphony Chorus will perform Bernard Hughes's carol 'Christmas Bells' on Sunday 17 December at BBC Maida Vale Studios, for later broadcast on BBC Radio 3. The carol is a setting of a Longfellow poem for mixed choir and organ and will be conducted by Neil Ferris as part of a programme of modern and traditional carols. 'Christmas Bells' is available in the anthology En Bethlehem, published by Cadenza Music.
Bernard Hughes's carol Jesus, Springing is being performed by the BBC Singers on Friday 15 December at Temple Church in London. The concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3. The carol is a setting of a poem by Kevin Crossley-Holland, with whom Bernard previously collaborated on The Death of Balder, also for the BBC SIngers,
Everyone Sang, the first of Two Choral Fanfares, and the first track on Bernard Hughes's choral album I am the Song, has passed 34,000 plays on Spotify. The other fanfare, the album's title track, is close behind, approaching 33,000 plays. Both tracks are available on Spotify, or to buy on CD, along with other music by Bernard Hughes.
